Refund & Cancellation Policy

There are two separate things people mean by a refund here, and they have different answers. This page covers both.

PayMQR never holds your money. Customers pay a merchant’s own account directly, so PayMQR cannot reverse or refund a payment between a customer and a merchant. Refunds for an order are handled by the business that received the payment.

1. What you pay PayMQR, and how

Every account starts on the free plan, and the free plan stays free. Paid plans are optional.

To move to a paid plan you choose it in Billing in your PayMQR account, pay the published price for one term by UPI from your own payment app, and submit the payment reference. PayMQR reviews that payment and the plan activates once PayMQR confirms it.

PayMQR stores no payment method for you and charges nothing automatically. There is no card on file, no mandate and no recurring debit, so PayMQR cannot take money from you: every paid term begins with a payment you make yourself.

A term runs for the billing cycle shown on the plan and does not renew on its own. At the end of it, unless you buy another term, the account simply returns to the free plan.

2. Cancelling a plan or an account

A plan purchase you have started but not yet paid for can be cancelled from Billing in your account. Nothing is owed for a purchase you cancel before paying.

You can stop using PayMQR at any time. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee, and because nothing renews automatically there is no subscription to cancel — a paid term simply ends.

Ask through the contact page if you want your account closed. Records already created — payments, evidence and audit entries — are retained as described in the privacy policy, because a payment record that disappears cannot answer a later dispute.

3. Refunds on a PayMQR plan

A paid term that has been activated is not refunded automatically, and PayMQR does not run an automated refund process for one. Because a term is bought one cycle at a time and nothing renews on its own, you are never billed for a cycle you did not choose.

If you believe a subscription payment was taken or applied in error — the same payment counted twice, a plan activated that you did not buy, or an amount that does not match the published price — tell us through the contact page with the payment reference and we will investigate and correct it.

This section applies only to money you pay PayMQR for the service. It does not apply to payments your customers make to you, which PayMQR never receives.

4. Payments between a merchant and their customer

When a customer pays through a PayMQR checkout, the money goes directly from that customer to the merchant's own payment account. PayMQR does not receive it, hold it, route it or settle it, and takes no share of it.

PayMQR therefore cannot reverse, refund, cancel or redirect a payment made to a merchant. It has no technical ability to do so, and no authority over the funds.

5. If you are a customer seeking a refund

Contact the business you paid. They hold the payment, they supplied the goods or services, and the refund decision and the refund itself are theirs.

Their refund and cancellation terms govern that decision, not this page.

If the payment does not appear correct on your own bank or UPI statement, raise it with your bank or payment app as well.

6. If you are a merchant refunding a customer

Issue the refund the same way you received the payment — through your bank or UPI app. PayMQR is not involved in that transfer.

A payment already marked Verified in PayMQR stays verified: the status records what PayMQR confirmed at the time, and a later refund does not change what happened then. Keep your own record of refunds alongside it.

You are responsible for publishing your own refund and cancellation terms to your customers.

7. Changes

This policy will be updated as the product changes, and in particular before the way PayMQR collects a service charge changes. The current version is always the one published here.
